As 2023 comes to a close, we can’t help but look back on the incredible moments that made this year unforgettable for The Alliance for Hispanic Commercial Contractors. Over the course of the last year, with the support of our incredible partners in the industry, we have been delighted to provide our members with a dozen educational webinars, a smashing summer cocktail mixer, and a wildly successful panel lunch.
Tuesday’s holiday party at La Cuchara was the perfect cap to end the year and is a testament to the growth and success we’ve achieved together. The evening was not only filled with festive cheer but also provided a platform for invaluable networking connections. Members engaged in meaningful conversations, exchanged business cards, and laid the foundation for future collaborations that promise to shape the coming year. However, the true highlight of the night was the announcement of an astounding $8,000 in scholarships—a historic milestone for AHCC. These scholarships are not just numbers; they represent a commitment to supporting and empowering the local Hispanic community. As we celebrate our successes, it’s crucial to recognize that these funds will directly impact the lives of talented individuals within our community, providing them with opportunities to pursue education and build promising futures. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Holiday Party sponsors—The Barbour Group, Capital Construction Enterprises, Global HVAC, RG Insurance, and DeWalt. Your support made our Holiday Celebration not only possible, but extraordinary! As we bid farewell to 2023, let’s carry the spirit of camaraderie and success into the new year. We look forward to building on this momentum, fostering even stronger connections, and continuing to make a positive impact together. Here’s to a joyful holiday season and a prosperous 2024! Warmest Seasons Greetings, All of us at AHCC |

The State of Maryland (“State”) is conducting a comprehensive Utilization and Availability Study (the “Disparity Study”), led by MGT Consulting Group (“MGT”). The overall purpose of the Disparity Study is to determine whether there is racial and/or gender business discrimination in the markets in which the State does business – both public and private sectors.
As part of that process, the State will collect data regarding the availability of firms owned by minorities and women, and the utilization of these firms as contractors and subcontractors in the Maryland marketplace. In addition to analyses of quantitative data, the Disparity Study will also examine qualitative data about business discrimination (to the extent that it exists) provided by business owners, trade associations, business organizations, and other stakeholders. We encourage ALL business owners to provide information about their experiences, particularly with respect to discrimination, while doing business or attempting to do business with the State of Maryland and other public or private entities in Maryland’s market area. We hope that all firms, not just certified firms, will participate. For ways to get involved, please see the “Business Owner Engagement” page below. |
